Responsible construction.

Safety and sustainability are not just elements we try to incorporate; they're how we operate.

Synergy’s safety vision is that Everyone Gets Home Safely.

Our mission is to be a building leader in the Canadian marketplace that achieves a level of safety performance that results in an injury free work environment so that every member of the Synergy family gets home safely.

The Synergy Home Safe program is based on six pillars:

  • Enterprise Wide Vision – “Everyone Home Safely”
  • Top Down Engagement in the Program
  • Proactive and Learning Focused
  • Clearly Defined and Linked Performance Indicators
  • Recognition of Positive Behavior and Performance
  • Focused Targets and Methods of Reporting

These six pillars maintain sure and steady support for Synergy’s positive Safety Culture. The pillars act as principles that guide our day to day decisions, management priorities, and future changes to the Synergy Safety Program. This means our Safety Culture is never compromised; if we can’t do it safely, we don’t do it.

The Synergy HSE Program is Industry Leading

Safety is a journey. The Synergy Team will always look for opportunities to improve our safety culture and program. We are continuously learning and engaging our employees in an effort to create a safe work place.

This ensures our safety program is progressive and innovative in comparison to our competitors. We never stand still and continuously improve. Particular components of our safety program that enable us to maintain an industry leading rating are:

  • Multi-faceted observational systems
  • The consistent use of technology in the field integrated to the office
  • Linked leading and lagging data reporting
  • Internal safety audit programs
  • Learning from incident formal processes
  • Training and competency systems for workers and supervisors
  • Positive reinforcement systems that promote safe work habits

Reducing Environmental Impact

Reducing our carbon footprint is taken seriously at Synergy. We incorporate internal programs and external connections to reduce the impact of our business and our projects on the environment.

SynergyEco Projects

Prior to the start of every project, our team of construction professionals assesses the opportunity to designate the site a SynergyEco project. With the cooperation of project owners, Synergy can maximize the amount of construction materials diverted from landfills, as well as identify what could be recycled or reused. Commonly, project owners have not considered the benefits or availability of rigorous recycling strategies, and our team is able to incorporate environmental processes directly into the project.

LEED

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an international green building rating system recognized in more than 100 countries. Buildings in general generate a significant amount of greenhouse gas and use large volumes of water. LEED certified buildings cut down on energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions, and reduce the amount of construction waste sent to landfills. With several LEED specialists on staff, our team has completed a number of LEED projects for private and institutional clients, ranging from LEED certified to LEED Gold.

Bullfrog Power logo

Bullfrog Power

Synergy Projects is bullfrogpowered® with 100% green electricity. This means Bullfrog Power’s generators inject clean, renewable electricity onto our regional grid to match the amount of power Synergy Projects uses. Across Canada, Bullfrog’s electricity comes exclusively from wind and hydro facilities certified as low impact by Environment Canada under its EcoLogoM program, instead of from polluting sources or large hydro. By choosing green electricity, we’re reducing our organization’s impact on the environment, supporting the development of new renewable generation in Canada, and helping to create a cleaner world.
